Music with room for everybody

Zydeco grew in South Louisiana's Black Creole communities. Its sound is often driven by accordion and frottoir, the metal rubboard, with rhythms that make the dance floor part of the music. It is living music: artists keep shaping it, adding new influences while carrying its social roots forward.

Louisiana's musical story has many chapters, from zydeco and Cajun dance halls to New Orleans brass bands and bounce. No one song can contain it all. Together these sounds give a sense of a place where creativity moves through neighborhoods, families, and generations.

Parti Gras celebrates that energy. The Friday welcome is about making connections with the same open-hearted spirit that makes a Louisiana dance floor feel like home.
